3. Configuration Guidelines

To configure the Honeywell TPPR-V-0852 pressure transmitter:

  1. Install the transmitter in a suitable location free from excessive vibration and temperature extremes.
  2. Connect the process connection to the pipeline or vessel using appropriate sealing materials.
  3. Connect the electrical wiring according to the provided terminal diagram:
    • Connect power supply and signal wires to the appropriate terminals
    • Ensure proper grounding for electrical safety
  4. Configure the transmitter using one of the following methods:
    • Local display and push-button interface
    • HART® communicator
    • Configuration software (e.g., Honeywell Smart Line Configuration Tool)
  5. Set the following parameters:
    • Measurement range and units
    • Output signal scaling (4-20 mA)
    • Damping factor
    • Display configuration (units, decimal places)
    • HART® tag, description, and other device information
  6. Perform a zero and span calibration if necessary.
  7. Verify proper operation by monitoring the output signal and comparing with known pressure values.

4. Safety Considerations

The transmitter incorporates several safety features to ensure reliable operation:

  • Overpressure protection up to 3x the rated pressure
  • Reverse polarity protection on electrical inputs
  • Compliance with industry safety standards (IEC 61508, SIL 2)
  • Material compatibility with a wide range of process media
  • Continuous self-diagnostics with fault indication
  • Optional configuration for fail-safe output behavior
